Svelto in the making!
SVELTO SPIDER VELOCE COMMISSION
Before Svelto was ever conceived, I had a vision to transform my 1983 Alfa Spider into the kind of car I always wanted to drive. I wanted it to have the classic feel, but with a modern touch. We started by replacing the old Bosch fuel injection system with Weber side-draft Italian carburetors, giving the car a rawer, more responsive edge. We upgraded the suspension to be fully adjustable, added lower springs, and enhanced the brakes for better handling. Inside, I aimed to recapture the charm of the ’70s, bringing back that era’s classic style. The sound was crucial, so we swapped out the original exhaust for a sports system that gave the Spider a distinct growl—something that really made the car come alive. Of course, the look had to match the feel, so we lowered the car, fitted new wheels and tires, and finished it all off with a sleek silver paint job accented in black. To me, that combination was the perfect way to complete the transformation.
